How to test your internet broadband or streamyx speed?

3 days ago my wife received a call from TM Malaysia asked about our streamyx line. She asked either our streamyx service has a probem or not. My wife said that there was no problem with it. Currently we subscribe a streamyx 512kbps package and we subscribe about four years already.

Even though many people say 512kbps speeds quite slow but for us it is enough and further more the line quite stable. That’s what we expect for.

Then she start explaining about a new package if we want to upgrade an existing line. I feel it is a good time to upgrade to 1mbps now and Tm Malaysia now offering with a good package. Upgrade to 1Mbps and get free cordless phone, free 1 ID for internet zone, 10sen per minute call to any mobile phone and of course free call to fixed line. This is an amazing deal from them and we have to pay only RM110 every month. Compare to existing package, our monthly payment also reaching RM100 already and we have less feature. We make a confirmation through that conversation.

Yesterday morning one of TM Malaysia’s contractor came and do line activation and within 24 hours we already can receive internet service at 1mbps. Last night I was doing testing to see either it’s speeds  already increase or not. I use a speedometer.com to test the internet streamyx speeds. And the result show me that our internet streamyx is currently download at 1257mbps and upload at 390kbps. And when I check inside the router it showed that the signal give by Tm Malaysia reaching 2Mbps and because we use a fix line the speed will drop when reaching our place.

So for those who still subscribe a 384kbps or 512kbps I personally advice you to upgrade to 1Mbps because TM Malaysia offering a good package with all complete feature.
